“Dr. Borusiewicz was a phenomenal resident to work with. She was thoughtful, inclusive, caring and exceptional teacher,” explained a student.

“She treated everyone with respect and consistently made sure to ask how things were going and provided great feedback. It was clear she was a team player and work flowed smoothly for her contributions. The team is extremely lucky to have a resident like her.”

Dr. Borusiewicz is a proud graduate of the Penn State College of Medicine. Originally from Yardley, Pennsylvania, she now splits time between the east coast and Colorado where her family resides. Initially drawn to the unique breadth and creative challenges within Plastic Surgery, she continues to enjoy the opportunities the field provides to improve patients’ function, identity and quality of life, as well as the mentors in her attending surgeons.

She plans to pursue a focus in the hand and upper extremity, and hopes to center her career in academic Plastic Surgery and medical education. In her free time, she enjoys visual and performing arts, music, cooking and loves to spend time with her co-residents.

Penn State College of Medicine’s Office for a Respectful Learning Environment recognizes exceptional faculty, residents and fellows with the monthly “Exceptional Moments in Teaching” program. One faculty member and one resident/fellow are highlighted each month for their contributions. College of Medicine students are invited to submit narratives about faculty members, residents, nurses or any other educators who challenge them and provide an exceptional learning experience using the online nomination form.
