Karpa, a licensed pharmacist and pharmacologist, develops and coordinates interinstitutional and interprofessional activities for students at the College of Medicine and students in health care programs at other local colleges. These programs are designed to provide students with opportunities to learn from other health professions, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes.

Karpa’s work aligns with NAP’s values of fostering interprofessional collaboration, patient-centeredness and inclusivity. The organization, which includes representation from 14 different health care professions, is known for its advocacy in supporting policies that promote the best health outcomes for individuals and communities. Distinguished practitioners and scholars are elected to NAP by their peers.

“I am honored to join this remarkable group of health care professionals,” Karpa said. “Together, we’ll continue to advocate for coordinated care across professions in order to improve patient care and community health.”
